Parthenon illuminated in full splendor

Athens-Sounio route affected by roadworks

Attica regional authorities announced the suspension of traffic on the Sounio-bound carriageway of the Athens-Sounio highway from 8 p.m. on Wednesday for 15 days to allow for repairs to be carried out to damage in the Loumbarda tunnel near Varkiza.

JusMin Predoiu: Amendment of Justice laws - in public debate until March 31, 2021

Justice Minister, Catalin Predoiu, announced the start of the public debate, to last until March 31, 2021, of the proposals to amend the Justice laws - Law 303/2004 regarding the status of judges and prosecutors, Law 304/2004 regarding judicial organization and Law 317/2004 regarding the Supreme Council of Magistracy.

Greek T-bills auctioned at negative interest rate

The Public Debt Management Agency (PDMA) raised 487.5 million euros on Wednesday through the auction of 26-week treasury bills at a uniform yield of -0.10%.
The issue was originally for the auction of T-bills worth €375 million, but the amount raised increased as total bids reached €1.313 billion.
The settlement date is Friday.

Bosnian Serb Wartime Camp Guards Convicted of Abusing Prisoners

The Bosnian state court in Sarajevo on Wednesday convicted Boris Bosnjak, Miodrag Grubacic and Ilija Djajic of the abuse of non-Serb civilian prisoners at the Mosa Pijade barracks in Bileca during wartime in 1992.

In a first-instance verdict, the court sentenced Bosnjak to ten years in prison, Grubacic to five years and Djajic to six years.

New coronavirus cases back under 400; deaths at three

After an alarming spike of 416 on Tuesday, new coronavirus cases dropped below the 400 mark on Wednesday, with the Organization for Public Health (EODY) reporting 354 confirmed infections. Deaths also dropped on Wednesday, coming to three as opposed to five the day before.
