Covid case count continues to rise steadily
Ljubljana – A total of 3,981 positive coronavirus tests were logged in Slovenia on Monday, a new record since March but only marginally more than last Monday. 89 Covid patients were treated at regular hospital wards on Monday and 21 were in intensive care, which is eight and 12 more respectively than a week ago. One Covid patient died.
Banka Slovenije says financial system stable, but risks elevated
Ljubljana – Banka Slovenije deems Slovenia’s financial system stable, but “the expected deterioration in economic conditions and inflation persisting at high levels means systemic risks to financial stability are elevated”, vice-governor Tina Žumber said as the central bank presented its latest Financial Stability Report on Tuesday.
Slovenia reserved about Ukraine’s joining NATO
Vitanje – Slovenia is reserved about Ukraine’s joining NATO due to major security risks involved, Foreign Minister Tanja Fajon told reporters on Tuesday. “If NATO were to take a decision to admit Ukraine as member, it could be a clear declaration of the start of war,” she said on the sidelines of an event in Vitanje.
