Air Serbia renews, expands cooperation with Air China

BELGRADE - The national airlines of Serbia and China, Air Serbia and Air China, have renewed cooperation launched in 2015 to facilitate travel between the two countries, Air Serbia said in a statement.

BELGRADE - Serbian Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said on Friday investments in the Serbian Armed Forces had never been greater and that, thanks to President Aleksandar Vucic, 600 mln euros had been secured outside of the state budget for investments in the army and the defence industry.

Partizan Belgrade crash out of UEFA Europa Conference League

BELGRADE - Partizan Belgrade have crashed out of the UEFA Europa Conference League after a 3-1 home defeat to Moldovan side Sheriff Tiraspol in the return leg of the competition's round of 32 in Belgrade on Thursday evening.

Partizan won the first leg 1-0.

Petkovic: Anniversary celebration a provocation by Pristina, no liaison office

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Thursday a Belgrade gathering that had marked the anniversary of the so-called Kosovo's unilateral declaration of independence had not been an official event and was a "sheer provocation" by Pristina.

Serbian financial sector expects 8 pct inflation in January 2024

BELGRADE - According to the results of an Ipsos survey, the Serbian financial sector expects one-year ahead inflation (in January 2024) to be 8 pct, unchanged for a fourth consecutive month, the National Bank of Serbia (NBS) has said.

According to the February Bloomberg survey, one-year ahead inflation expectations are lower, at 7.0 pct, the central bank said in a statement.

Lajcak: I expect both sides to accept European plan on Monday

BELGRADE - The EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak said on Thursday he expected both sides to accept an EU plan for resolving the Kosovo issue at Monday's meeting in Brussels.

Vucic: Nidec to open factory in Novi Sad in May

NOVI SAD - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic announced on Thursday Japan's Nidec Corp would open a factory in Novi Sad in May.

Vucic was speaking to reporters after the opening of a Continental Automotive Serbia factory at Kac, near Novi Sad.
