Cyprus relocates 76 Afghan, Syrian asylum-seekers to France

Cyprus' Interior Ministry said Thursday 76 Afghans and Syrians seeking international protection have been relocated to France under a European Union program to ease the burden on Mediterranean countries receiving large numbers of migrants.

National Security Council discusses election security

The National Security Council (MGK) has discussed the election security and the measures needed for the May 14 polls, the council said in a statement after it convened in the capital Ankara on March 30.

"Measures for holding the May 14, 2023 elections in an environment of peace and security were reviewed," the statement said.

Turkey's parliament on Thursday ratified Finland's application to join NATO, lifting the last hurdle in the way of the Nordic country's long-delayed accession into the Western military alliance.

Two people were injured in a traffic accident that occurred in the center of Thessaloniki, in northern Greece, early on Friday.

According to reports, at around 5.30 a.m., a public bus collided with a motorcycle at the intersection of Egnatia and Venizelou streets.
