Bulgaria’s Borissov Probed Over Money Laundering Allegations

The prosecution says there is now incriminating evidence that Bulgaria's PM for much of the time from 2009 to 2021 provided third parties with funds - acquired from crime - to purchase and rent real estate abroad.
Bulgaria: Health Minister to drop the Mandatory Isolation and Quarantine for People Sick with COVID-19
The Minister of Health, Dr. Asen Medzhidiev, will initiate changes to the Health Law to allow for the abolition of the mandatory isolation of persons sick with COVID-19, as well as the mandatory quarantine of the contacts of these persons.
On May 5, the World Health Organization lifted the Public Health Emergency of International Concern due to COVID-19.
PM meets with US envoy
Prime Minister Ioannis Sarmas, on Wednesday received the US Ambassador to Greece, George Tsunis at his office.
The ambassador congratulated Sarmas on his appointment as prime minister and wished the caretaker government good luck in its endeavours. They reaffirmed that Greek-US relations are "at their best point".

Tourist visits in Serbia up by 22.2 pct y-o-y in April
BELGRADE - Serbia registered 22.2 pct more tourist visits in April 2023 relative to the same month of last year and the number of overnight stays was up by 17.7 pct, according to figures released by the national statistical office.
Overnight stays generated by Serbian tourists were up by 9.5 pct y-o-y, while those generated by foreign tourists were up by 28.6 pct y-o-y.
Bulgaria: New Rules for Electric Scooters in Sofia - Fines up to 25 EUR
New rules, restrictions and sanctions for the use of scooters and electric scooters in Sofia are proposed in amendments to the "Ordinance on the organization of traffic on the territory of the Capital Municipality". They will be submitted by the chairman of the Metropolitan Municipal Council, Georgi Georgiev, and published for public discussion.
