Famous singer convicted on ‘inciting hatred’

A court has convicted famous pop singer Gülşen Bayraktar Çolakoğlu of "inciting hatred" with the remarks she made about the İmam Hatip religious schools.

The announcement of the verdict that sentenced Gülşen to 10 years in prison was deferred.

A push to resolve Greek-Turkish disputes after upcoming elections?

Foreign Ministry expresses condolences over school shooting in Serbia

The Greek Foreign Ministry has expressed condolences to the relatives of the victims of Wednesday's school shooting in the Serbian capital of Belgrade, in which nine people were killed. 

The ministry wrote on Twitter that they were "utterly devastated by the news of the shooting attack."

Türkiye, US freeze assets of 2 terror financiers

Türkiye and the United States have slapped sanctions on two people believed to have raised money for two extremist groups operating in Syria, the countries have announced.

The announcement followed another joint move by Washington and Ankara four months ago, when they sanctioned a network of people and companies accused of helping deliver funds to ISIL.

Cyprus cuts VAT to 0% for certain products

The Cyprus Council of Ministers approved a decree during Tuesday's session, which imposes a zero VAT rate on the delivery of certain products until October 31.

These include bread, milk, eggs, baby food, baby diapers, feminine hygiene products, and adult diapers.

PM emphasizes support for Greece’s shipbuilding and repair industry

Listed company Epsilon Net on Tuesday announced the completion of its acquisition of a 60% equity stake in Netera, a company offering specialized IT solutions for enterprises in the hospitality sector, for a net consideration of 700,000 euros. Netera offers its services to more than 800 hotels.
