US strongly condemns 'barbaric attack' on hospital in Afrin

The U.S. on June 13 condemned an attack by the terror group YPG/PKK on a hospital in opposition-held northern Syria which killed at least 14 civilian patients and injured dozens.

"We condemn in the strongest terms yesterday's attacks on the al Shifaa Hospital in Afrin, Syria," U.S. State Department spokesman Ned Price said in a statement.

Atatürk’s base in Syria’s Afrin to turn into museum

A house that Mustafa Kemal Atatürk, the founder of modern Turkey, used as his military headquarters in Syria's northern province of Afrin during World War I will be renovated and turned into a museum.

"The house has already been cleaned, and a project to restore and turn the house into a museum has been prepared," the Hatay Governor's Office said.

Turkish army chief inspects 'Olive Branch' troops in border province of Hatay

Turkey's army chief on May 25 visited the southern border province of Hatay to inspect troops taking part in the ongoing Operation Olive Branch in northwestern Syria. 

In a statement, the Turkish General Staff said Chief of General Staff Gen. Hulusi Akar was briefed by the commanders on duty in the region and issued orders.
