Agra turns 60 and returns to pre-Covid format to discuss challenges in agriculture
Gornja Radgona – As many as 1,750 exhibitors from more than 30 countries are taking part in the 60th Agra agriculture trade fair, which opened on Saturday in Gornja Radgona in the pre-pandemic format and with Japan as the partner country. It celebrates its development over the past six decades and addresses multiple topical challenges in agriculture.

Trade fair organisers welcome events industry reopening
Ljubljana/Celje/Gornja Radgona – Slovenia’s major trade fair organisers are happy the government has reopened the events industry and are busy preparing their annual trade fairs to be held in late summer or early autumn, hoping the existing coronavirus restrictions will be further relaxed by then. A ban on fairs and conventions had been in place for over a year until 24 May.
Consortium of Slovenia’s EU protected foods set up
Ljubljana – A consortium of EU-wide protected crops and food products from Slovenia was established this week at the initiative of the Slovenian Beekeepers’ Association. The consortium will aim to promote the products, act as a united front in providing promotional funds and work on regulating the area, the association said.

Monsoon Rains Collapse Houses in Northern India, Killing 37
LUCKNOW, India (AP) — At least 37 people have been killed this week as monsoon rains triggered house collapses and flooded wide swaths of land in northern India, officials said Saturday.
Weather officials have predicted more rains in the next 48 hours in India's most populous state of Uttar Pradesh.
Disastrous Sand Storms Killed nearly 100 People in India (Photos)
98 people were killed and 160 were injured in sandstorms last night in northern India, authorities said.
The most affected by the elements are the states of Uttar Pradesh and Rajasthan, where the victims are 46 and 31 respectively, according to officials of the disaster response authorities in India.

Police in Bosnia's Federation entity on December 17 arrested Hamdija Lipovaca, Prime Minister of the Una-Sana canton, and a top official of the Social Democratic Party.
The case concerns allegations of corruption dating from the time when he was mayor of the northwestern city of Bihac.
