Turkey in spotlight as ‘world’s largest museum’

A new project titled “The World’s Largest Museum: Turkey,” which includes a book, photography exhibition and a documentary film, was launched over the weekend at the Istanbul Archaeology Museums.

The project was initiated jointly by the Culture and Tourism Ministry, the Turkish Travel Agencies Union (TÜRSAB) Museums Initiatives, and the Bilkent Cultural Initiatives.

Women-only beach to be opened in top Turkish tourism center

The Mediterranean province of Antalya, known as one of Turkey’s top tourism centers, will soon have a women-only beach, Antalya Mayor Menderes Türel has announced.

The Sarısu beach will be turned into a free of charge, women-only beach before the Islamic holy month of Ramadan ends on July 27, Türel said during a fast-breaking iftar meal at a municipal nursing home on July 16.

Six-year-old Russian tourist dies in Mediterranean province of Antalya

A 6-year-old Russian boy has drowned in a swimming pool at a holiday resort in the Turkish city of Antalya, where he was staying with his family.

Hotel officers immediately jumped into the pool to rescue Dimitri Samoilenko when they realized he was not able to get out of the water after going down a water slide.
