Some 996 billion Turkish Liras ($112 million) have been raised in donations in the wake of the deadly flooding in the Black Sea region and the wildfires that hit scores of provinces this summer, Interior Minister Süleyman Soylu has said.

The 58th Antalya Golden Orange Film Festival, organized by the Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, kicked off on Oct. 2 at the Antalya Sports Center under pandemic measures.

Making a speech at the ceremony, Antalya Mayor Muhittin Böcek, who stayed intubated for months in hospital last year due to COVID-19, said that he was happy to be at this year's opening ceremony of the festival.

The international community's efforts are needed to solve the migration problem, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu said on Sept. 12.

"If this [migration] is a global problem, we must work together as the international community to solve it," Çavuşoğlu told journalists in the southern Turkish resort city of Antalya.

Antalya, the heartland of Turkey's tourism industry, has hosted more than 5 million foreign tourists so far this year - up 253 percent year on year.

While climbing 85.44% year-on-year, the figure fell by 78% versus the same period in 2019 before the eruption of coronavirus pandemic dealt a major blow to international travel, showed the official data.

Turkey recorded 660,595 house sales in the January-July period, down 22.7 percent year-on-year, the country's statistical authority announced on Aug. 13.

Over the last two weeks, the Mediterranean resort city of Antalya, the pearl of the Turkish Riviera, welcomed over 307,000 Russian tourists, according to official data.

A total of 1,095 airplanes from Russia landed at Antalya Airport in the last two weeks, said Provincial Culture and Tourism Directorate data released Monday.
