Policeman confesses to killing taxi driver in Kastoria
A 30-year-old police special guard who on Saturday confessed to the murder of a 52-year-old cab driver in the region of Lefki, in Kastoria, northern Greece, on Friday night was the man who shot and arrested Nikos Maziotis - a leading member of the Revolutionary Struggle urban terror group - during a shootout at Monastiraki in 2014.
Cavusoglu accuses Kammenos of making provocative comments
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu has rebuffed Greek accusations that Ankara is escalating tensions in the Aegean, and attributed the recent friction to Athens, citing "provocative" comments by Defense Minister Panos Kammenos, the leader of the junior coalition party, the Independent Greeks (ANEL).

Acclaimed opera singers and choirs of the City of Athens and state broadcaster ERT and the Athens State Orchestra will present Gaetano Donizetti's tragic opera "Lucia di Lammermoor" in concert form at the Athens Concert Hall on Monday, March 13. This bel canto jewel will be performed in the original Italian with Greek supertitles, and will be conducted by Loukas Karytinos.

Heavy rain and storms to continue over weekend
The extreme weather warning forecast by the National Meteorological Services (EMY) was confirmed, as a wave of heavy rains, storms, strong winds and topical hail has descend on Greece since late Friday.

ATHEX: Stocks finish week lower
Apart from the general air of uncertainty, little could be drawn from Friday's session at the Greek bourse as the benchmark barely budged and turnover dropped back below 30 million euros. The distance that remains between Athens and the country's creditors on a number of issues does not bode well for next week either.

Report paints bleak picture for Athens public transport
Higher gas prices and maintenance costs for the rapidly aging fleet of the Athens Urban Transport Organization (OASA) are eating away at its profits, the cash-strapped company said in its annual report for operations in 2015.
Anthoupoli and Aegaleo metro stations closed to public
Anthoupoli station on Line 2 of the Athens metro and Aegaleo station on Line 3 are to remain closed on Saturday and Sunday to allow for the installation of ticket barriers.
Anthoupoli station will remain closed on Monday too.
Prospects for deal in bailout talks get more distant
After yet another round of inconclusive bailout talks in Athens, Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras said he believed a comprehensive deal with creditors could be reached by April while taking a dig at the International Monetary Fund over its tough stance on labor rights.
