Blaze at recycling plant put out as experts say pollution is within acceptable levels
Firefighters were able on Friday to fully extinguish a blaze at a closed recycling plant in Aspropyrgos, southwest of Athens, which had been belching malodorous smoke into Athens?s atmosphere since last Saturday.
According to the Attica Regional Authority, only a few parts of the plant, which was completely destroyed in the fire, are still smoldering.
