Top China, Russia officials warn foreign forces stoking turmoil
Top Chinese and Russian officials warned Monday that foreign forces were seeking to sow turmoil in Asia and beyond as they opened an international defence conference in Beijing.
Beijing has billed this week's Xiangshan Forum as its answer to Singapore's Shangri-La Dialogue and says that representatives of 90 countries are taking part, including Russian Defence Minister Sergei Shoigu.
China's Defense Minister has been Fired
China's defense minister has been removed from office after weeks of speculation that he would face the same fate as former foreign minister Qin Gang.
Li Shangfu has been sent to resign, the official Xinhua news agency reported, without giving reasons for this decision, the South China Morning Post wrote.

Colombian president to visit China this week
Colombian President Gustavo Petro will visit China this week, Beijing's foreign ministry said yesterday, with the leftist leader seeking to strengthen ties with the world's second-largest economy.
Petro's visit comes at the invitation of President Xi Jinping and will take place from today to Oct. 26, Chinese foreign ministry spokesperson Hua Chunying said.

Vucevic: Serbia-China military cooperation modernises SAF defence capabilities
BEIJING - Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic says Serbia-China military cooperation supports Serbia's defense modernisation and empowers its defense capabilities.
In an interview to China's state-run media outlet Global Times, Vucevic noted that he looked forward to further development of Sino-Serbian cooperation, especially in defence.
