Dacic receives new UAE ambassador to Belgrade
BELGRADE - Serbian First Deputy PM and FM Ivica Dacic received a courtesy visit from the UAE's newly-appointed ambassador to Belgrade, Ahmed Hatem Barghash Almenhali, on Tuesday.
Cordially welcoming the ambassador, Dacic wished him success during his tenure and a pleasant stay in Serbia.

Serbian MPs pass amendments to law on local elections
BELGRADE - Serbian MPs on Tuesday passed amendments to the law on local elections that move the timeframes for calling and holding local elections.
The amendments were carried with 165 votes in favour, 26 votes against and 2 abstentions, while 11 of the 204 MPs in attendance took no part in the vote.
Dinar-to-euro exchange rate at RSD 117.1661
BELGRADE - The Serbian dinar's official median exchange rate against the euro is 117.1661 dinars for one euro on Tuesday, which is a slight change from Monday, the National Bank of Serbia said.
The dinar is steady against the euro m-o-m, up by 0.1 pct y-o-y and steady relative to the beginning of the year.

Vucic: Serbs have met difficult obligations but Serb municipalities not on horizon
NEW YORK - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said in the UN Security Council on Monday the Serbs had met all the difficult obligations from the Brussels Agreement with Pristina but that, after 11 years, the establishment of a Community of Serb Municipalities was "not even on the horizon."
Vucevic meets with German MFA's envoy
BELGRADE - In a discussion with the German MFA's envoy Michael Reiffenstuel in Belgrade, Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said Serbia wanted the sponsors of a draft UN General Assembly resolution on Srebrenica to withdraw the document to "contribute to reconciliation in the region."

Serbian industrial turnover up by 11.7 pct y-o-y in February
BELGRADE - Serbia's February industrial turnover was up by 11.7 pct relative to the same month of last year, according to figures released by the national statistical office.
Relative to the 2023 average, it was down by 0.9 pct.
By sectors, the mining sector registered a 43.5 pct turnover increase y-o-y, while the manufacturing industry turnover rose by 10.7 pct.
Serbian construction permits up by 0.6 pct y-o-y in February
BELGRADE - A total 1,797 construction permits were issued in Serbia in February, which was a 0.6 pct increase relative to the same month of 2023.
According to figures released by the national statistical office RZS, 80.5 pct of the total permits were issued for buildings, while other structures made up the remaining 19.5 pct.
Mali: Serbia attracting record-high FDI inflows
BELGRADE - Serbian Finance Minister Sinisa Mali said on Monday Serbia held the record for the highest FDI inflows in the region, attracting over 60 pct of all FDI in the Western Balkans.
"We have to keep that up as it means new factories, new jobs and higher salaries and pensions," Mali told the RTS.
