US State Dept: Belgrade-Pristina dialogue on dinar should continue with urgency
WASHINGTON - The US State Department believes the EU-facilitated dialogue is the proper channel for resolving issues related to normalisation of Belgrade-Pristina relations and that discussions about the Serbian dinar should continue with urgency, says principal deputy spokesperson for the US State Department Vedant Patel.
Dinar-to-euro exchange rate at RSD 117.2100
BELGRADE - The Serbian dinar's official median exchange rate against the euro is 117.2100 dinars for one euro on Wednesday, which is a slight change from Tuesday, the National Bank of Serbia said.
The dinar is steady against the euro m-o-m, up by 0.1 pct y-o-y and steady relative to the beginning of the year.

Lajcak: Dialogue to be continued on Monday

Petkovic: We pointed out all difficulties for Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija
BRUSSELS - The director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Tuesday that, at a Brussels meeting with Pristina's chief negotiator Besnik Bislimi and the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak, Belgrade's delegation had pointed out everything that posed a difficulty for the survival of Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.
Trilateral meeting of Petkovic, Lajcak and Bislimi concludes
BRUSSELS - A trilateral meeting of the chief negotiators of Belgrade and Pristina, Petar Petkovic and Besnik Bislimi, and the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak concluded in Brussels at around 4.30 pm on Tuesday.
The meeting, which began at around 1 pm, lasted slightly over 3.5 hours.

BELGRADE - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with Russian Ambassador to Belgrade Alexander Botsan-Kharchenko on Tuesday and presented to him a letter for Vladimir Putin in which he congratulated the Russian president on his re-election and explained the difficult situation Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija are in.
Serbian industrial turnover up by 6.9 pct y-o-y in January
BELGRADE - Serbia's January industrial turnover was up by 6.9 pct relative to the same month of last year, according to figures released by the national statistical office.
Relative to the 2023 average, it was down by 13.8 pct.
By sectors, the mining sector registered a 12 pct turnover increase y-o-y, while the manufacturing industry turnover rose by 6.7 pct.
Trilateral meeting of Petkovic, Lajcak and Bislimi begins in Brussels
BRUSSELS - A trilateral meeting of the chief negotiators of Belgrade and Pristina, Petar Petkovic and Besnik Bislimi, and the EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak began in Brussels shortly before 1 pm on Tuesday.
Previously, a delegation of experts from Belgrade that was led by Petkovic met with an EU delegation headed by Lajcak.
Serbian construction permits up by 3 pct y-o-y in January
BELGRADE - A total 1,615 construction permits were issued in Serbia in January, which was a 3 pct increase relative to the same month of 2023.
According to figures released by the national statistical office RZS, 82.4 pct of the total permits were issued for buildings, while other structures made up the remaining 17.6 pct.
Delegations of Belgrade, EU meet in Brussels
BRUSSELS - A meeting of Belgrade's delegation of experts led by chief negotiator Petar Petkovic, who is also director of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija, and an EU delegation headed by the special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak began in Brussels on Tuesday shortly after 11 am.
