BELGRADE - Serbia's public debt rose by 26.3 bln dinars to 4,268.1 bln dinars (36.4 bln euros) in February, accounting for 47.8 pct of GDP.

According to figures released by the Public Debt Administration of the Serbian Ministry of Finance, foreign currencies accounted for 77.7 pct of the total public debt at end-February.

BELGRADE - The Serbian dinar's official median exchange rate against the euro is 117.1191 dinars for one euro on Wednesday, which is a slight change from Tuesday, the National Bank of Serbia said.

The dinar is up by 0.1 pct against the euro m-o-m and y-o-y and steady relative to the beginning of the year.

BELGRADE - Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic said on Tuesday the heroes of the 1999 Battle of Kosare in Kosovo-Metohija "were, and remained, an impenetrable rampart of our freedom."

On the 25th anniversary of the battle, Vucevic said the heroes of Kosare had risen to the "immortal ranks" of "our ancestors."

PARIS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Tuesday in Paris he hoped French luxury fashion brand Louis Vuitton would open an office in Belgrade by 2026 and noted that the move would be significant for the Serbian economy and tourism industry.

BELGRADE - The head of the Serbian government Office for Kosovo-Metohija Petar Petkovic said on Tuesday the 1999 Battle of Kosare represented one of the most difficult battles for the Serbs and that "it is our sacred duty to never forget the heroes who gave their lives to defend freedom and Kosovo-Metohija."

BELGRADE - Serbian Minister of Internal and External Trade Tomislav Momirovic said on Tuesday he had written to the trade ministers of EU member states, the UK, the US and CEFTA to warn, for a third time in a year, that Pristina's ban on trade in Serbian goods remained in force in Kosovo-Metohija.

BELGRADE - Serbian Parliament Speaker Ana Brnabic met with the Serb member of the Bosnia and Herzegovina Presidency, Zeljka Cvijanovic, in Belgrade on Monday.

SOFIA - The EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak announced on Monday a new meeting of the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue would be held in Brussels next week to discuss the use of the Serbian dinar in Kosovo-Metohija, and said he hoped an arrangement would be finalised based on the EU's ideas.

PARIS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said his meeting with French President Emmanuel Macron on Monday evening would address various important topics including bilateral cooperation as well as Belgrade-Pristina ties and the so-called Kosovo's potential admission to the Council of Europe (CoE).
