Romania's president on Nov. 5 appointed Education Minister Sorin Campeanu as interim prime minister to replace Victor Ponta, who quit following mass anti-government protests sparked by a deadly nightclub fire.

At Least Five People Injured in Explosion, Fire at Bread Factory in Romania's Brasov
At least five people were injured in an explosion followed by a fire occurring at a bread factory in the Romanian city of Brasov on Thursday evening.
Prefect Mihai Mohaci said that the five injured, who had not lost consciousness were transported to the County Emergency Hospital, AGERPRES news agency quotes him as saying.
Turkey sends medical team to Romania for Turks injured in nightclub fire
Turkey has sent a medical team to Romania to support the treatment of two Turks injured in nightclub fire, Foreign Ministry spokesperson Tanju Bilgiç said on Nov. 5.
One of the Turkish nationals caught in the fire was severely injured and is under intensive care while the other has been released from hospital, he told reporters.

At least 30 000 people took to the streets of Romanian cities again on Wednesday, hours after the resignation of Prime Minister Victor Ponta's government.
Demonstrators blamed the incident at the Collectiv club in Bucharest which killed 32 people and injured hundreds last week.

The news comes after a mass protest in Bucharest on Tuesday, which called for the government's resignation over the fire and explosion at the Colectiv night club in the Romanian capital last week, which claimed the lives of 32 people and left hundreds injured.
