Montenegro Seeks to Lure More Russian Tourists

Montenegro's tourism business is gearing up for the summer, expecting more Russian tourists than in previous years.

On Thursday, the tourism authorities presented the country's offer at the largest Moscow travel and tourism fair, MITT, saying that, "trends show that more Russian tourists are interesting to visit Montenegro."

Legendary producer and DJ Fatboy Slim, and soul singer John Newman will be the lead stars at the start of the post-Exit Sea Dance music festival in the Montenegrin resort of Budva on Thursday.

For the third year, the Exit festival is being held two locations, at the Novi Sad fortress in Serbia - its original location - and then at Jaz Beach in Montenegro.

4 found guilty for drowning of 35 Kosovo Roma refugees

The Court of Appeals of Montenegro has found four defendants guilty for a boat accident in 1999 that resulted in the deaths of 35 Roma refugees from Kosovo.

The Miss Pat, registered to carry six passengers and two crew, had about 70 people on board when it sank near Budva, Montenegro in the summer of 1999.

Net Holding signs casino management deal in Montenegro

Turkey's Net Holding has signed a casino management agreement with Casino Avala d.o.o to operate a casino in Budva, Montenegro, the company announced in a written statement to the Public Disclosure Platform (KAP) late on Dec. 14. 

The agreement will be for five years, while the casino space covered by the deal is 2,000 square meters in total, according to the statement.
