Turkey has no plans to require vaccinations: Health minister
Turkey's health minister says his country has no plans to make vaccination against the new coronavirus mandatory but will work to convince the public about the safety of the vaccines.

The levels are at their lowest in 10 years, with reservoirs in Istanbul, Ankara, Izmir and Bursa - Turkey's four biggest cities - only 24 per cent, 23 per cent, 36 per cent and 24 per cent full respectively.

Cities see record high temperatures
Turkey is experiencing the warmest May due to hot weather front from North Africa, causing rising temperatures across the country, according to state meteorology officials.
After the weekend during which the temperatures set all-time record highs for May in Antalya, Muğla, Burdur and Isparta, temperatures hit 40 degrees Celsius on May 18 in most cities.

Strong winds hit Istanbul, disrupt daily life
Many ferry services in Turkey's biggest metropolis were canceled on Fe. 27 due to strong winds, causing disruptions in daily life.
In a statement, Istanbul Sea Bus Company (IDO) said it had canceled some of its services, including intercity lines between Istanbul and Bursa in addition to some intracity ones.

The newest edition of the İncili (Pearly) Gastronomy Guide 2020 was launched on Feb. 25 at a ceremony held at Shangri-La Bosphorus Hotel in Istanbul, unveiling the best restaurants of Turkey.
The guide, which has become prestigious in the gastronomy world within a very short time, has been prepared in a collaboration between daily Hürriyet and porcelain maker Karaca.

First space training center to open in northwestern Turkey
Turkey is set to open a new training center for space enthusiasts and young people who consider going forward with such a career path.
The Gökmen Space and Aviation Training Center (GUHEM), Turkey's first space training base project will open its doors in the northwestern city of Bursa on April 23.
Nearly $13.5M lottery prize divided four ways
The prize money of Turkey's 2019 grand New Year lottery was divided into four on Dec. 31 evening after a quarter ticket emerged from the draw.
An official from the state-organized lottery said that the prize of 80 million Turkish liras ($13.4 million) had been won by ticket 1358490, with four lucky winners to share the sum.
