Türkiye’s top diplomat visits Cairo as part of normalization process
Türkiye's chief diplomat was in Cairo on March 18 for talks with Egyptian officials as the regional powers seek to mend their frayed ties after years of tensions.
Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Türkiye's foreign minister, landed in the Egyptian capital early Saturday. He was the highest-ranking Turkish official to visit the Arab World's most populous nation in over a decade.

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlut Cavusoglu will visit Egypt, his ministry announced Friday, the first such high-level trip in more than a decade as the countries repair relations damaged in the wake of the 2011 Arab Spring.

Smiley, dimpled sphinx statue found in Egypt
Archaeologists in Egypt have unearthed a sphinx statue "with a smiley face and two dimples" near the Hathor Temple, one of the country's best preserved ancient sites, the tourism and antiquities ministry announced on March 6.
It is the latest in a series of discoveries revealed over the past few months.

Air Serbia to introduce direct flights to Cairo in May
BELGRADE - Air Serbia will commence direct flights between Belgrade and Cairo on May 15.
The Serbian national airline will be operating flights to the capital of Egypt three times a week, every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, while flights from Cairo to the Serbian capital will be operated on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays, Air Serbia announced in a statement.
