Clashes in Egypt's Sinai after jihadists kill 30
Egypt's army clashed with jihadists in Sinai Friday, leaving two children dead, as President Abdel Fattah al-Sisi flew home to deal with a wave of militant attacks that killed at least 30 people.
The top brass vowed to hunt down those behind the violence.

UN halts Gaza house repairs saying donors failed to pay up
The UN agency for Palestinian refugees said on Jan. 27 that it cannot afford to repair Gaza homes damaged in last year's war with Israel because donors have failed to pay.
"The agency has exhausted all funding to support repairs and rental subsidies," the United Nations Relief and Works Agency (UNRWA) said in a statement.

Egypt court orders release of Mubarak's sons pending retrial
A lawyer for the sons of Egypt's ousted President Hosni Mubarak said a court ordered their release on Jan. 22 pending retrial in a corruption case but judicial sources said they would not be freed until prosecutors review other legal cases against them.
