Man arrested for threatening doctors in Corinth hospital
A hospital in the town of Corinth in southern Greece was placed on alert on Monday after a man, 25, threatened doctors with a can of petrol and a smoke bomb.
The suspect, who had earlier been examined by doctors at the facility, stormed into the emergency room of the Corinth General Hospital building, telling the doctors present he would set fire to them and burn them.

Greece was not "cut in two" by the closure of a section of the national highway between Athens and Corinth because of a fire on a truck, as the pro-SYRIZA website Left.gr argued. The area of Kakia Skala is simply not the center of Greece - unless, of course, you listen to a few Peloponnesians who believe Greece to be the Morea and the "new countries" above it.

Tanker truck catches fire on Athens-Corinth motorway
A tanker truck transporting gasoline caught on fire on Thursday on the motorway between Athens and Corinth. There are currently 15 firefighters and five vehicles on scene.
According to state broadcaster ERT, the driver managed to escape his vehicle in time and there are no reports of any endangered people. As a safety precaution, all traffic in both directions has been stopped.

The Hellenic Republic Asset Development Fund (TAIPED) on Friday announced the extension of the tender for the utilization of Attiki Odos, the ringroad around northern Athens which connects the Athens-Corinth and Athens-Thessaloniki highways with Athens International Airport.

No tolls for private vehicles on election weekend
All Greek highways will be toll-free on Sunday for private vehicles and motorcyclists, making it easier to get to and from polling places.
From midnight Saturday to 8 a.m. Monday, there will be no tolls.

A Magnitude 6.5 Earthquake Off the Coast of Nicaragua
There is no danger of a tsunami
A strong earthquake of 6.7 on the Richter scale was registered off the coast of Nicaragua, world agencies reported.
The depth was 40 km. The epicenter was 80 km southwest of the city of Corinth, which has a population of over 19,000 people.
A magnitude 5.9 earthquake shook Australia earlier today.

Clashes outside Corinth court over killing of alleged would-be robber
A group of people clashed with police outside the courthouse in the city of Corinth on Tuesday, when they tried to enter the building to protest the killing of an alleged would-be robber on Sunday.
The 35-year-old alleged shooter was expected to appear before a prosecutor on Tuesday to respond to charges of murder.
