The impact of the growing tension in the Red Sea region and its impact on global trade, along with the escalating crisis in the Middle East, was raised by Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Thursday, noting that "now that we are trying to bring down inflation, any disruption in supply lines can only complicate the effort that central banks are making."

DAVOS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic met with European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen at the World Economic Forum (WEF) meeting in Davos on Thursday.

DAVOS - Since 2012-2013, Serbia has succeeded in more than doubling its total GDP from 32 bln euros to almost 69 bln euros, Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said at a World Economic Forum (WEF) discussion panel in Davos on Thursday.

Vucic noted that the IMF had projected Serbia's GDP to grow 3.5 pct in 2024 but that he believed the growth rate would reach 3.6 pct.

Bulgarian Prime Minister Nikolai Denkov, participating in the World Economic Forum in Davos, emphasized the collective responsibility of Europe in supporting Ukraine during a CNBC interview. Denkov stressed that Ukraine's fight extends beyond its borders and urged European unity for strength.

Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis on Thursday said he hoped Greece would become an exporter of green energy "in the medium-term" at a round table discussion on the topic 'European Green Deal, Anyone?' at the World Economic Forum in Davos. 

Bulgarian Deputy Prime Minister Mariya Gabriel has announced significant progress in Bulgaria's bid to join the Schengen Area during her discussions with Belgian Prime Minister Alexander De Croo. Gabriel emphasized the backing received from the Belgian Presidency of the EU, ensuring that the Schengen issue remains a top priority.

Addressing the World Economic Forum in Davos, "We Continue the Change" Co-chairman Kiril Petkov emphasized the potential for Bulgaria, Romania, and Greece to achieve the highest GDP growth in Europe through collaborative infrastructure development.

Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis will participate in two events at the World Economic Forum (WEF) in Davos on Thursday and Friday.

The WEF's theme this year is "Rebuilding Trust" in a rapidly changing world at three levels, "into the future, within societies and among nations".

DAVOS - Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic said on Wednesday in Davos he had requested EU special envoy for the Belgrade-Pristina dialogue Miroslav Lajcak to stop Pristina PM Albin Kurti's attempt to destroy dialogue by halting payments of salaries and pensions to Serbs in Kosovo-Metohija.

The huge gap between how women and men's health are treated costs $1 trillion a year worldwide, the World Economic Forum (WEF) said yesterday. 

Women spend a quarter more of their lives suffering from poor health than men, a disparity that includes an unequal focus on men across medical research, diagnosis and treatment, the report said.
