Greek Prime Minister Alexis Tsipras on Tuesday called on Turkey to tone down the aggressive rhetoric of recent months, saying that Ankara's stance is related to domestic developments and geopolitical instability.

The two Greek military officials held in Turkey for almost four weeks will remain in custody for the time being, according to the decision by a Turkish prosecutor on Tuesday, Skai TV reported.

Two Greek soldiers being held pending trial after accidentally crossing into Turkish territory last week were found by their families to be "in good health and with high morale."

Lieutenant Angelos Mitretodis, 25, and Sergeant Dimitris Kouklatzis, 27, were allowed a visit by their families on Monday in the prison where they are being held in the Turkish town of Edirne.

The lawyers for two Greek soldiers arrested in Turkey have formally requested their release from custody.

The two were arrested last week for allegedly entering a Turkish military zone and on suspicion of attempted espionage.

The two Greek soldiers who were detained after accidentally crossing the Turkish border in bad weather on Thursday will appear before a court on Monday on charges of illegally entering a prohibited military zone, but not for espionage, as initial media reports had suggested. 

Two Greek soldiers were detained by the Turkish army after they crossed the border between the two countries on Thursday morning. This is reported by Ekathimerini, an e-newspaper, quoted by Focus.

Two Greek troops are being held by the Turkish army since Thursday morning for accidentally crossing the Greek-Turkish border on Evros, Ekathimerini reported.

Turkish border authorities detained 575 illegal migrants and refugees who were preparing to cross illegally to Bulgaria and Greece. This was announced by the Security Directorate of the city of Edirne, reports sega. 

A total of 236 illegal migrants planning to enter  European countries illegally, as well as a traffickers, were arrested on Friday near the Turkish town of Edirne, Daily Sabah writes, quoted by FOCUS.
