German street named after first Turkish female physician
A street in the German city of Dortmund has been named after Safiye Ali, Türkiye's first female doctor, to honor her achievements as a medical doctor and women's rights activist.
At the commemorative ceremony organized for the prominent Turkish doctor 70 years after her death, her services and achievements throughout her life were cited.

High turnout prompts extra ballot boxes abroad
The number of expatriate votes cast in Türkiye's upcoming elections has reached nearly 1.2 million, prompting the government to set up additional ballot boxes abroad.
More than 3.4 million Turkish citizens living abroad are eligible to vote for the presidential and parliamentary elections scheduled for May 14 at home, around 277,000 of whom are first-time voters.

Seven more Turks die in Germany from COVID-19
Seven more Turks have died in Germany from the novel coronavirus in the last 24 hours, local authorities said on April 30.
The deaths were reported in Nuremberg, Essen, Munich and Mannheim.
The latest casualties bring the number of Turks who have died in the country from the pandemic to 130.

At least 28 people were injured on Saturday after part of the stage of an outdoor concert in the city of Essen in Germany collapsed, Welt newspaper reported.
According to the newspaper, the incident took place at a concert of rappers Marteria and Casper.
