Renaissance traces adorn Giresun houses

Giresun might be a long way from Florence, but the traces of the Renaissance are prominent in one neighborhood of the Turkish Black Sea city.

Windows of some houses in Giresun's Zeytinlik neighborhood were designed with the art of the golden ratio as in the window behind Jesus in the "Last Supper" painting by Leonardo Da Vinci.

Ye?im Ustao?lu's films in Italy

The Middle East Now Film Festival, organized in Italian city of Florence, will screen Turkish director Ye?im Ustao?lu's films this year in its retrospective section. 

The sixth edition of the festival will be held between April 5 and 10. 

According to the official festival website, three multiple award-winning films by Ustao?lu will be in the festival program.

Turkish director Ferzan Özpetek, who is a well-known figure in Italian cinema, is again staging Verdi's famous opera 'La Traviata' in Naples for the first time since 2012Italy-based Turkish director Ferzan Özpetek has directed Guiseppe Verdi's famous opera "La Traviata" for a second time, premiering the piece on Nov. 3 at Europe's oldest theater, the Real Tiatro di San Carlo in Naples.

The Bulgarian men's national football team suffered 0:1 defeat to visiting side Norway in a decisive UEFA EURO 2016 qualifier on Thursday.

Thus, Bulgaria's chances of qualifying for EURO 2016 diminished as Bulgaria is lagging five points behind its direct opponent for the third place in qualification Group H - Norway.
