Extreme heat sparks wildfires, health warnings

Extreme heat was forecast across the globe on Wednesday, as wildfires raged and health warnings were in place in parts of Asia, Europe and North America.

Firefighters battled blazes in parts of Greece and the Canary Islands while Spain issued heat alerts and some children in Italy's Sardinia were told to stay away from sports.

Ukraine said on Sunday that Russian troops were advancing in four areas in the east of the country amid "fierce fighting" but reported its forces moving forward in the south.

Deputy Defence Minister Ganna Maliar said that Russian troops were advancing near Avdiivka, Mariinka, Lyman and Svatove.

Greek mid-caps on display at Geneva roadshow

Athens Stock Exchange Group (HELEX) on Tuesday launched a series of international roadshows to promote listed medium-capitalization companies to European institutional investors for the first time.

The first roadshow took place on Tuesday in Geneva and will be followed by roadshows in Paris (June 22) and Frankfurt (October 31).

Bulgarians celebrate Children's Day

Today is June 1 - Children's Day. The holiday dates back to the World Conference on Children's Health, held in Geneva in 1925.
