US passes peak in new coronavirus cases: Trump
The U.S. has passed its peak in new coronavirus cases, the nation's president said on April 15.
Speaking during a White House Coronavirus Task Force briefing, Donald Trump said new cases are declining in the New York metropolitan area, the city of Houston, Texas and the city of New Orleans in Louisiana and cases in Detroit and the Denver metro area are flat.

Carbon capture extends life of lignite units
A group of Greek and US experts has sent the Energy Ministry an alternative proposal regarding the operation of Public Power Corporation's efficient lignite-powered units, such as Ptolemaida 5, beyond the termination deadline of 2028 that the National Plan for Energy and the Climate provides for.

Harden returns to lead Rockets over Nuggets: 130-104
James Harden scored 35 points and Russell Westbrook finished with 28 as the Houston Rockets cooled off the Denver Nuggets with a 130-104 win on Dec. 31.
Harden also had six assists while Westbrook contributed seven helpers, avenging an earlier loss to the Nuggets.
Nikola Jokic scored 21 points to lead Denver, who had won nine of their last 10 games.

US embassy, consulate closed Wednesday to mark Bush death
The US Embassy in Athens, the American consulate in Thessaloniki and all the country's agencies in Greece, will be closed on Wednesday, owing to the recent death of former president George H.W. Bush.
Bush died on Friday at the age of 94, at his home in Houston, Texas.
Ex-member of FETÖ-linked foundation brought to Turkey from US
A former executive of Fetullah Terrorist Organization (FETÖ)-linked foundation in the U.S. has been brought to Turkey on Nov. 16, according to security sources.
Mehmet Salih Gözegir was deported from the U.S. on Nov. 15 after he was found guilty of sexual abuse of children, said a security source, who asked not to be named due to restrictions on speaking to the media.

Tanker runs aground off Crete
