Russian President Vladimir Putin on Nov. 25 said Turkey's political leaders had been encouraging the Islamisation of Turkish society, something he said was a problem, Russian agencies quoted him as saying.

Speaking a day after Turkey shot down one of Moscow's jets, Putin said: 

"The problem is not the tragedy we witnessed yesterday," the TASS news agency quoted him as saying. 

Russian General Staff has deployed one of its largest air defense ships at the foot of Turkish territorial waters in the Mediterranean, in a move to revise security measures after a Russian SU-24 was downed by Turkish aircrafts.

According to Russian RIA Novosti agency, Russian General Staff boosted security measures after the recent incident. 

Russia's federal Chechen Republic leader Ramzan Kadirov has slammed Turkey's shooting down of a Russian jet on Nov. 24 as a "betrayal," saying "Ankara will regret" the incident.

Russian Defense Ministry has released its own radar analysis of the Russian jet downed by Turkish warplanes near Syria on Nov. 24, following the Turkish Army's analysis a day earlier. 

Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev said Nov. 25 that Russia may consider cancelling some important joint projects with Turkey after the downing of the Russian jet by Turkish F-16's near the Syrian border on Nov. 24.

President Recep Tayyip Erdo?an on Nov. 25 said Turkey did not want any escalation with Russia over its downing of a Russian plane on the Syrian frontier but vowed to always defend Turkish borders.
    

Russia would be prepared to "create a joint staff" to fight the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL) in which Moscow would work with France, the United States and even Turkey, the Russian ambassador to France said on Nov. 25.
 

Turkish and American presidents, Recep Tayyip Erdo?an and Barack Obama, discussed the Turkish Air Forces' downing of a Russian jetfighter during a phone conversation late Nov. 24 and agreed on the need to de-escalate tension between Ankara and Moscow. 

The shooting down of a Russian warplane on Nov. 24 marks a first in many aspects. First of all, it is the first Russian warplane downed by a NATO country since the 1950s, and the first shot down by Turkey since the alliance was founded in the late 1940s.
