On the other hand, the Russian army announced that Ukraine carried out 39 artillery strikes on populated areas on the left bank of the Dnieper, within the Kherson region.
During the night, Ukrainian air defense forces shot down 16 Russian drones over Dnipropetrovsk, Zaporozhye and Kherson regions.

The Russians attacked fiercely; They are captured
At least four people were killed and nine were wounded in Russian strikes on the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, the governor of the region said.
An air threat was announced in the Mykolaiv, Kirovohrad and Dnipropetrovsk regions of Ukraine, as well as in parts of the Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions that are controlled by Kyiv.

Zelensky says Russian attacks increasing
Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has said Russia was increasing its attacks across the front line, as Kiev called for the West to boost weapons supplies ahead of winter.
Neither side has made any significant territorial gain for months, but both Zelensky and the Kremlin have denied the conflict has ground to a stalemate.

One year since liberation, Ukraine's Kherson still under fire
Beneath a tall residential building in the southern Ukrainian city of Kherson, policemen and soldiers cautiously circled a shell casing on the ground surrounded by debris.
The fragment -- the remains of a Soviet-era Grad rocket -- had torn through the building's ninth floor, ripping a large hole in its exterior and sending debris in all directions.

On a stripped-down stage, a group of actors in T-shirts and jeans sat on chairs recounting life under the Russian occupation of Ukraine's southern city of Kherson.
