Train operator Trainose is improving service between the port city of Thessaloniki and the towns of Kilkis and Serres in northern Greece, with more routes and affordable tickets.
Firefighters in Kilkis taxed by double arson hit
Firefighters in the northern city of Kilkis were taxed early on Monday morning when two blazes broke out almost simultaneously - one in a fuel truck and the other at a gas station.
The fire service received the first call at around 5 a.m., informing them that a fuel truck was ablaze outside the home of a local businessman.

Moderate quakes rattle northern Greece
An earthquake with a preliminary reading of 4.0 rattled northern Greece early Tuesday, with no immediate reports of damage.
The tremblor was recorded 28 kilometers northwest of Kilkis at 12.13 a.m., with assessments giving it a focal depth of 2 kilometers, reports said.

Brothers seen behind robbery gang in Kilkis and Kavala
Two brothers aged 51 and 53, as well as third suspect, aged 35, have reportedly been identified by police in the northern Greek town of Kilkis as being behind at least 10 robberies that netted them more than 40,000 euros in valuables and cash.
Quake, 4.7, hits Kilkis
A 4.7 Richter earthquake hit the town of Kilkis, in northern Greece, early on Saturday.
According to the Athens Geodynamic Institute, the tremor's epicenter was located 18 kilometers west of the town.
Several aftershocks followed the initial tremor, though there were no reports of injuries or damage.

4.7 earthquake rocks Kilkis and Thessaloniki
A 4.7 magnitude earthquake rocked the city of Kilkis in Macedonia, at 1.22am in the morning of Saturday. The epicentre of the earthquake was located 18km west of the city and had a shallow 4km depth. The tremor was also felt in Greece’s second largest city of Thessaloniki.
