Fresh Russian bombardment of Kiev kills at least 3 people, wounds others

Russian forces began June with a fresh aerial bombardment of Kiev on Thursday, killing at least three people and wounding others, authorities said.

Following a reported 17 drone and missile attacks on the Ukrainian capital in May, Russian forces hit the capital in the early morning with ground-launched missiles.

Kremlin: Putin, Erdogan to meet in foreseeable future

The Kremlin said on Wednesday President Vladimir Putin and his Turkish counterpart Tayyip Erdogan would hold a meeting in the foreseeable future, although it was not yet agreed when and where the meeting would take place.

Putin congratulated his "dear friend" Erdogan after the latter's victory in Turkey's presidential election on Sunday.

'Massive' Russian drone attack kills one in Kiev: mayor

One civilian has died in Kiev after a "massive" drone attack on the Ukrainian capital, the city's mayor Vitali Klitschko said Sunday.

"A 35-year-old woman was hospitalised, a 41-year-old man died," the mayor and former boxer said on Telegram, reporting that drone wreckage had crashed near a petrol station.

Kiev repels Russia air strikes: Ukraine officials

Russian forces launched overnight air attacks on Kiev, military officials in the Ukrainian capital said Friday, adding that all the missiles were intercepted and destroyed.

"Another air attack on Kiev, 13th in a row since the beginning of May! And, as always, at nighttime," the city's military administration said on its Telegram account.

Missile fragments that fell during the airstrike caused two fires in the eastern districts of Kyiv, officials said.
Two more people were wounded in the attack in Odessa, wrote the spokesman of the military administration Serhii Bratchuk on Telegram, reports Reuters.
