Greek farmers vow to keep up roadblocks despite court action
Farmers blocking a key highway in Greece for a second day to demand tax cuts on Tuesday vowed to keep up their protest despite a summons for leaders to appear in court for transport disruptions.
Protest leader Rizos Maroudas on Tuesday accused the left-wing government of seeking their prosecution to avoid the embarrassment of ordering their arrest.
Greek authorities to review cleaner's 10-year fraud sentence
Greece's supreme court prosecutor is re-examining a lower court's decision to jail a kindergarten cleaner for 10 years for fraud because she forged an elementary school certificate to get her job.
Court officials said Thursday that Xeni Dimitriou will review the ruling - which has been widely criticized as unduly strict - to determine whether the case should be retried.
Woman suspected of killing father in Kallithea
A 56-year-old woman faced an Athens prosecutor on manslaughter charges on Thursday after police arrested her over the death of her 88-year-old father earlier this week.
The body of the elderly man was found at his Kallithea home on Tuesday with a bloodied walking stick next to him.

Attacks launched over terror suspect
The demand of a jailed terror suspect, who is on a hunger strike, to be returned to Attica's high-security Korydallos Prison after he was forcefully removed by EKAM special forces on Saturday and sent to a penitentiary in the central Greek town of Larissa, sparked a series of violent demonstrations, culminating in a hand grenade assault Monday morning on a police precinct in Athens.

Mild quake hits central Greece
An earthquake measuring 3.5 on the Richter scale shook the region of Tyrnavos, in central Greece, at 7.45 a.m. on Wednesday, according to reports.
The tremor's epicenter was located 25 kilometers northwest of Larissa, with assessments giving it a focal depth of 5 kilometers, according to the same reports.
There were no reports of damage or injuries.

Greek police arrest 7 for selling bogus olive oil
Greek police have arrested seven people allegedly involved in fraudulently selling large quantities of adulterated sunflower oil as olive oil in Greece and abroad.
A family of four and three of their relatives were found operating a workshop were they added a dye to turn the yellow sunflower seed oil into a green hue resembling olive oil.

Major cocaine trafficking ring busted
A crime ring that imported large quantities of cocaine into Greece from Colombia has been unraveled, police said on Monday.
Four members of the gang - a 47-year-old Greek and three Albanians aged, 29, 30 and 49 - were arrested in Athens and the central Greek town of Larissa. Another 40-year-old accomplice, also from Albania, is being sought.

Hospitals in central Greece robbed
