Istanbul hopes to host new, 'historic' Champions League final
Fifteen years after the "Miracle of Istanbul" that cemented Steven Gerrard's status as a Liverpool legend, the Turkish metropolis was supposed to host its second Champions League final on May 30. But that was before the coronavirus pandemic wreaked worldwide havoc.
Watford snap Liverpool's 44-match unbeaten run
Liverpool's 44-game unbeaten run in the English Premier League was ended on Feb. 29 by Watford at the Vicarage Road.
The teams were unable to break a scoreless deadlock in the first half but in the second half, Senegalese winger Ismaila Sarr was key, scoring two goals against the league leaders.
English forward Troy Deeney was the other goal maker in the 3-0 win.

Atlético Madrid edges Liverpool 1-0 in Champions League

English Premier League leaders Liverpool smashed Leicester City 4-0 late on Dec. 26 to increase the point gap to 13 against their nearest opponents the Foxes.
Brazilian forward Roberto Firmino scored twice against Leicester City on Boxing Day.
Midfielder James Milner and defender Trent Alexander-Arnold were the other scorers for the Reds at the King Power Stadium in Leicester.
Liverpool beat Man City to extend lead on top
Liverpool increased English Premier League lead following 3-1 win against Manchester City.
Liverpool had the 3-0 lead at the Anfield Stadium as Brazilian defensive midfielder Fabinho scored an early opener.
The Reds' Egyptian star Mohamed Salah made it 2-0 in the 13th minute.
