But for all their hard work and dedication they sometimes miss the mark, by more than a mile.

Extinction of the Fire near Los Angeles Continues

The spread of the big forest fire near Los Angeles has been halted, BT Ti said, citing local media.

Efforts to control the fire, however, continue. Over 1,000 struggle with the fiery element that destroyed decars of land.
The Governor of California declared a state of emergency because of the fire, in which two firefighters and four civilians were injured.

Los Angeles 'turns corner' on largest wildfire in city history

A smattering of rain and easing temperatures helped more than 1,000 firefighters battling the largest wildfire in Los Angeles history gain the upper hand on the blaze on Sept. 3, but officials warned that danger remains.

"We've turned the corner, but this is not over," Los Angeles Mayor Eric Garcetti told reporters. "With winds this strong, anything can happen."
