Lanthimos's 'The Favourite' wins jury prize at Venice Film Festival

Yorgos Lanthimos's "The Favourite," an absurdist period comedy about two cousins courting the favor of Queen Anne in 18th century England, has won the jury prize - essentially the silver medal - at the 75th Venice Film Festival.

Olivia Colman won best actress for her role as the queen.

Business Economists Say Trump Tariffs will Harm US

AFP - Business economists overwhelmingly worry President Donald Trump's trade wars will harm the US economy, according to a survey released Monday.

The Trump administration on Thursday is due to impose its latest round of punitive tariffs on China, putting 25 percent duties on another $16 billion in imports, with Beijing poised to retaliate dollar-for-dollar.

Mexico City Earthquake: Houses Evacuated as 5.7 Quake Rocks Mexican Capital

The quake hit 5.6 miles (9km) north-west of Huajuapan de Leon, a city in the Mexican state of Oaxaca, with aftershocks felt in Mexico City.

It had a depth of 34 miles (55 kilometres), according to the US Geological Survey. 

There were no immediate reports of injuries or major damage following the quake, which struck at 8:31am local time (2:31pm UK time).

Controversial Shopping Mall Partly Collapses in Mexico City

Mexico City: A newly opened shopping centre in Mexico City has partly collapsed after a support beam failed in a cantilevered office area on the building's top floors.

Restaurant worker Juan Ramon Hernandez said people were evacuated only about five minutes before the offices sheared off. Officials said no injuries were reported.
