Dacic travels to Minsk for CEI meeting

Acting PM and Foreign Minister Ivica Dacic will attend the annual meeting of foreign ministers of the Central European Initiative (CEI) in Minsk on Thursday.

The Serbian government announced this on Wednesday, noting that the CEI was established in 1989 through cooperation of four countries - Italy, Austria, the Socialist Federal Republic of Yugoslavia (SFRJ), and Hungary.

Lukashenko decorates Nikolic

MINSK - Serbian President Tomislav Nikolic on Thursday received from Belarusian counterpart Alexander Lukashenko a state award of the Republic of Belarus - the Order of Friendship of Nations.

Nikolic and Lukashenko - who had invited Nikolic to a working visit to Belarus - also held a bilateral meeting.

Merkel firm, Putin's conciliatory tone; "Sanctions remain"

Relations with Russia are getting better, but more needs to be done before sanctions against Russia are lifted, German Chancellor Angela Merkel has said.

Speaking during a joint news conference with Russian President Vladimir Putin in Sochi, Russia, Merkel said that this can happen only when the Minsk peace agreement has been fully implemented.
