Turkish Cypriots protest abandonment of daylight saving time after fatal crash
A group of around 1,000 people protested in Turkish Cyprus on Dec. 1 over the decision to abandon Daylight Saving Time, blaming the move for a road crash that killed two schoolgirls.

Anastasiades says Erdogan comments 'unacceptable,' undermine trust
Cyprus President Nicos Anastasiades has criticized controversial remarks by Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan who on Tuesday questioned the legitimacy of the Cypriot flag which depicts the entire island.
"Such comments are unacceptable," Anastasiades said after talks with British Foreign Secretary Boris Johnson in Nicosia on Wednesday.

UN laments recent failure in Cyprus talks

Turkish FM talks to UN adviser over Cyprus after failed talks
Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu spoke with United Nations Special Adviser on Cyprus Espen Barth Eide over the phone late Nov. 27 after a recent failure in peace talks.
ATHEX: Correction after six sessions of growth
Investors cashed in some of the gains chalked up over six consecutive sessions of growth for local stocks, sending the benchmark into negative territory on Thursday.
The Athens Exchange (ATHEX) general index closed at 623.63 points, shedding 1.41 percent from Wednesday's 632.51 points. The large-cap FTSE 25 index fell 1.94 percent to 1,682.02 points.
