At least four people died in southern Ukraine's city of Odessa in clashes between pro-Russian activists and Maidan supporters on Friday.

An unknown people were injured, but according to UNIAN news agency at least three police members were among them.

Politics are being played out in the world that are aiming to divide Russians and Ukrainians, who are virtually "the same people", Russian President Vladimir Putin said.

The Organization for Security Cooperation in Europe is to send international monitors to Ukraine within 24 hours.

Europe's leading security organization announced Saturday its teams, comprising a total of 100 members, will be stationed in various regions, including south-eastern areas where violence had erupted amid tensions ahead of Crimea's secessionist referendum.
