Serbia Albanians Boycott Classes Over Missing Books
Albanian pupils and teachers in the southern Serbian municipalities of Presevo and Bujanovac on Tuesday boycotted classes in protest against what they say is the obstruction of textbooks in Albanian by the Serbian Ministry of Education.
Croatia Mulls Options if Hungary Closes Border
Croatia is mulling its options on refugees after Hungary again announced that it may completely close the border with Croatia.
After Hungary closed the border with Serbia on September 15, the refugee wave promptly diverted to Croatia the next day, with buses of refugees coming from the town of Presevo in the south of Serbia to the border.

Macedonia, Serbia Expect New Refugee Wave
A new wave of refugees is expected to reach the refugee reception centre in Presevo in southern Serbia, the Red Cross in Presevo said on Tuesday.
"At the moment, we have about 500 refugees but we have an information that during the day about 2,000 more will arrive," Ahmet Halimi, Secretary of the Red Cross in Presevo, said on Tuesday.

Migrants in Southern Serbia 'Receiving Adequate Help'
Equality Commissioner Brankica Jankovic visited Serbia's reception centre for migrants in the southern town of Presevo on Monday and said that refugees there had assured her that they were being not discriminated against in any way.
Serbia Sets up Refugee Camp Near Macedonian Border
The new camp was established in the village of Miratovac, near the southern Serbian town of Presevo, where a collective reception centre for migrants was opened in the reconstructed building of a tobacco processing company on July 8.

Migrants Resume Passage Through Macedonia
Macedonia on Sunday assisted thousands of migrants to resume their journeys through the country and into Serbia after the authorities tried to seal their southern border last Thursday and declared a crisis situation, which resulted in chaotic scenes and clashes with police.

Serbian-Russian Humanitarian Center donates to migrants
The Nis-based Serbian-Russian Humanitarian Center on Friday presented a donation to a reception center set up for migrants in the town of Presevo.
Serbian Minister of Labor and Social Policy Aleksandar Vulin and Russian Ambassador to Serbia Aleksandr Chepurin visited the center.
"Up to 600 migrants" passing through southern town each day
Between 400 and 600 refugees from the Middle East and Africa pass through the southern Serbian town of Presevo every day.
Large number of illegal migrants arriving in south
Migrants continue to reach the municipality of Presevo in southern Serbian in groups of mostly a dozen people, where they immediately seek asylum.
They do this in order to obtain documents that allow them to continue traveling. These migrants spend months on the road, crossing thousands of kilometers from Asian and African countries in their bid to reach the EU.

Agriculture minister visits south of central Serbia
PRESEVO - Serbian Minister of Agriculture and Environmental Protection Snezana Bogosavljevic-Boskovic met with businessmen and representatives of the southern Serbian municipalities of Presevo, Medvedja and Bujanovac on Wednesday.
Bogosavljevic-Boskovic told Tanjug that the businessmen were seeking to start production at once very productive slaughterhouse Jugokop.
