Man arrested for carrying 600 grams of cannabis in backpack
The police's anti-drugs squad arrested on Wednesday a 22-year-old man at the port town of Rafina, eastern Attica, for carrying 600 grams of cannabis in a backpack.
The drugs were hidden in a homemade package. The man, a foreign national, also lacked legal residence documents.
Police said it is searching for a second suspect believed to be working with the 22-year-old.

Storm causes power outage in central Athens
Crews from Greece's electricity distribution agency DEDDIE were called in to restore power to the area around Athens's Syntagma Square on Monday afternoon after a medium-voltage power line stopped working due to bad weather, the state-run Athens-Macedonian News Agency reported.

Resistance fighter Vardis Vardinoyiannis dies
Resistance fighter, lawyer and writer Vardis Vardinoyiannis died on Wednesday, aged 97.
Vardinoyiannis had joined and played a leading role at the Cretan Resistance in the Second World War, fought in the Greek Civil War and joined the resistance during the military dictatorship of 1967-1974.
