Women's volleyball team defeats S Korea, qualifies for 2021 FIVB semifinals

Turkey's national women's volleyball team defeated South Korea to qualify for the 2021 FIVB Volleyball Women's Nations League semifinals.

Turkey won their eleventh match 23-25, 25-20, 17-25 and 18-25 on June 19.

They will face Brazil in their fifteenth match in the tournament on June 20 in Rimini, Italy.

 

Turkey clinch 3-1 victory over Thailand in Italy

Turkey claimed a 3-1 win against Thailand on June 6 in the FIVB Women's Volleyball Nations League.

The Turkish national women's team defeated Thailand with the sets 23-25, 25-12, 25-20, 25-9 in Rimini, Italy.

Turkey maintained its seven-match unbeaten streak with the result as the team to take on the Dominican Republic in the eighth game.

Italy orders lockdown of rich north to try to halt coronavirus

Italy imposed a virtual lockdown across a swathe of its wealthy north on March 8, including the financial capital Milan, in a drastic new attempt to try to contain a rapidly growing outbreak of coronavirus.

The unprecedented restrictions, which will impact some 16 million people and stay in force until April 3, were signed into law overnight by Prime Minister Giuseppe Conte.

Italians Laundered EUR 105 Million through Bulgaria, 26 People Arrested

Torino's Financial Guard arrested 26 people accused of taking part in a financial fraud in the Italian state for over EUR 105m , 24chasa newspaper reported.

Money was transferred to companies' accounts in Bulgaria, and then traded via ATMs in Italy.

More than 40 properties in Turin and Rimini, as well as several luxury cars, have been seized within the operation.

6.7 earthquake hits central Italy (photos-videos)

Numerous buildings are said to have been destroyed across central Italy after a magnitude 6.6 earthquake, followed by aftershocks, rocked the peninsula on Sunday morning. No deaths have been reported, but Civil Protection says a number of people have been injured.
The US Geological Survey’s website puts the magnitude at 6.6.
