Bulgaria's Karatancheva Goes Up in WTA Rankings
Bulgarian tennis player Sesil Karatancheva is now ranked #104 in the Women's Tennis Association (WTA).
This is two spots up from her previous position, in the rankings of the main organizing body in women's professional tennis.

Djokovic beats Federer to defend Rome Masters title
World's number one tennis player Novak Djokovic of Serbia defended the Rome Masters title, after defeating Roger Federer of Switzerland 6-4, 6-3 on Sunday.
Djokovic previously triumphed in Rome in 2008, 2011 and 2014. The win was the 53th title in his career, eight of which he claimed at Grand Slams and 24 at Masters Series tournaments.

Simona Halep fails to qualify for WTA Rome tournament final
Romanian tennis player Simona Halep, ranked second in the world, has failed to defeat Spaniard Carla Suarez Navarro in the next to last stage of the 2,428,490-dollar tournament on Saturday, being defeated by 2-6, 6-3, 7-5.

President Iohannis to meet Pope Francis at the Vatican on Friday

Bulgaria's Grigor Dimitrov Proceeds to Second Round in Rome
Bulgaria's top male tennis player Grigor Dimitrov proceeded on Monday to the second round of the Internazionali BNL d'Italia in Rome.
Dimitrov defeated Jerzy Janowicz from Poland with 6:3, 7:6 (4) in a match, which lasted just over an hour and a half.
The Bulgarian achieved one break in the first set and prevailed in the tiebreak of the second set, claiming the final victory.
Mysterious golden ball
My napkin was gently folded like a bundle. As I cradled it in my palms I felt the warmth inside. It was as if it were still sizzling in deep oil. As I unfolded the layers of linen, I noticed that my golden fried ball was slightly pointed on one end. That made me curious about the cook; it was surely a clue about his home country.
