RUMA - Serbian Deputy PM and Defence Minister Milos Vucevic on Tuesday attended a display of new arms and military equipment and devices that are in the final stage of testing before being included in the Serbian Armed Forces' arsenal.

The display took place at the Nikinci centre for testing new arms and military equipment.

Franjo Baricevic was born in 1953 in the small village of Hrtkovci, near the town of Ruma in Serbia's northern Vojvodina region, where his family had lived for several generations.

RUMA - Nepalese food producer CG Corp Global on Thursday opened its first European plant in Ruma, northwestern Serbia, where it will produce noodles of the world-famous Wai Wai brand.

A security vehicle transporting cash was robbed on Wednesday on a highway stretch between the towns of Pecinci and Ruma in northwestern Serbia.

The robbers took with them "several million" Serbian dinars.

A 50-year-old woman, J.B., from the town of Ruma in the province of Vojvodina has been arrested on suspicion of murdering an 80-year-old woman in Novi Sad.

The body was found on Wednesday. The police also found items that belonged to the victim in the possession of the suspect, the Interior Ministry (MUP) said.

Serbian Railways receives Russian machines

RUMA -- State-owned company Serbian Railways (Železnice Srbije) has received 31 construction machines from Russia.

This completed the delivery of 103 machines in total, which are meant to speed up the repairs and construction of railroads in the country as part of a Russian of a USD 800 million loan.
