In Pirin, the fire has spread across approximately 6,000 decares of coniferous forest. Despite current low-lying activity with 10 active outbreaks, the situation remains volatile, with strong winds potentially exacerbating the fire.
Southwestern Bulgaria Battles Expanding Forest Fires and Landfill Blaze
Efforts to battle the three major forest fires in Southwestern Bulgaria, which intensified yesterday, are ongoing. Most resources today will be concentrated on containing the blaze in Pirin above the village of Senokos, where flight equipment will also be deployed.
Forest Fire at Kresna Gorge Continues to Rage, Residents Evacuated
The situation with the forest fire in the area of Kresna Gorge, South-West of Bulgaria, remains complicated in the late hours on 24th of August, reported BNT.
More than 6,000 decares of coniferous and broad-leaved trees have been destroyed by the fire. Residents of the villages of Oshtava and Senokos have been evacuated.
