In a grand inauguration ceremony today, the city of Shipka proudly unveiled the archaeological complex "Valley of the Thracian Kings," marking a significant achievement in the preservation and presentation of Thracian culture and art.

Bulgaria celebrates the 144th anniversary of the Shipka epic. The national celebrations will take place on the historic peak in Stara Planina, where the official part will begin at 12 o'clock. Shipka Pass will remain open for traffic.

Dozens of men set foot in the waters of Tundzha river in Kalofer for the traditional ritual of saving the cross, and to play the famous male ethnic dance of the Epiphany.

Due to the pandemic, there was no official organization, but many people gathered to follow tradition. Law enforcement forces tried to stop the dance, but it still happened.

Bulgaria's Culture Minister Vezhdi Rashidov ordered an urgent inspection in the tomb of the Thracian King Seuthes III after a collapse had been reported by the municipality of Kazanlak.

According to local Press TV, the Golyamata Kosmatka Mound, which contains the tomb, collapsed with nearly a meter and 5 cubic metres of soil had been removed from its corridor.
