Bulgarian and Croatian Defense Ministers Agree to Update Bilateral Co-operation Agreement

The defense ministers of Bulgaria and Croatia have agreed to update the bilateral co-operation agreement, reported BTA. 
   ,,We have agreed to prepare a new bilateral co-operation agreement between the two ministries'', Deputy Prime Minister and Defense Minister Krassimir Karakachanov said in a statement, speaking with his Croatian counterpart, Damir Krstičević, in Sofia.

Milorad Pupovac, the leader of the Independent Democratic Serb Party, SDSS, one of the parties representing Croatia's Serb minority, said on Friday that the defacement of some of the party's European Parliament election campaign billboards should not deter Croatian Serbs from turning out to vote.

Croatia receives protest after Serbian athletes are attacked

The protest note concerns an attack on several water polo players from Serbia's Crvena Zvezda (Red Star) club, that happened over the weekend in Split, Croatia.

"The Foreign Ministry has expressed deep concern and disappointment over the attack on the Crvena Zvezda water polo players," a press release said.

Croatian court sentences Captain Dragan to 15 yrs in prison

SPLIT - The county court in Split, Croatia, on Tuesday sentenced Dragan Vasiljkovic, also known as Captain Dragan, to 15 years in prison, Croatian media reported.

Vasiljkovic, 62, was found guilty on two counts of his indictment - abuse of prisoners of war in the Knin fortress and an attack on a police station in Glina.

Bulgarian Athlete Becomes Silver Medalist in EU Weightlifting

Bulgaria's Vasil Gospodinov won a silver medal at the European Weightlifting Championships underway in Split, Croatia, according to BNR.

Gospodinov is competing in the 105kg weight class. He succeeded in lifting the total of 397 kg, enough to get him the silver. In the same weight class Armenia's Simon Martirosyan lifted the total of 414 kg and won his first-ever European title.
