Representatives of the war veterans agreed on Tuesday to stop the hunger strike which started ten days ago, after social welfare minister Aleksandar Vulin promised that new legislation enshrining the rights of veterans will be adopted by the end of the year.

CE report includes data on destruction of heritage in Kosovo

BELGRADE/STRASBOURG -- Serbia cannot allow the adoption of a Council of Europe resolution that does not contain data on more than 150 Christian Orthodox churches destroyed in Kosovo.

STRASBOURG - Human Rights Commissioner of the Council of Europe (CoE) Nils Muiznieks welcomed on Wednesday the reaction of the Serbian government to the recent attack on an LGBT activist and called on them to ensure safety for all participants in the forthcoming Pride Parade in Belgrade.

A delegation representing 393 Finance Ministry cleaners who were placed in a civil service mobility scheme last year, were in the second day of a three-day visit to Strasbourg on Tuesday, where they are holding meetings with unionists and members of the European Parliament.

The European Parliament has given the green light to an Association Agreement with Ukraine setting up a free trade area after 2016.

While the agreement was being debated in Strasbourg, lawmakers in Ukraine also held discussions on the document, with both institutions having planned to pass it simultaneously.
