FM Çavuşoğlu attends Council of Ministers meeting, ECO summit

Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu is in Turkmenistan to attend the 25th Meeting of the Council of Ministers and 15th Summit of the Economic Cooperation Organization (ECO) and to hold bilaterals on Nov. 26-28.

Çavuşoğlu on Nov. 26 met with Turkmenistan's Foreign Minister Rashid Meredov. The minister discussed President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan's visit and the ECO summit.

Iran nuclear talks to resume November 29 after five months

Iran agreed on Nov. 3 to resume talks on November 29 with world powers on reviving a nuclear deal after a five-month gap, with the United States urging a quick resolution.

The indirect negotiations in Vienna come amid mounting pressure on Iran, with Western nations warning that the clerical state's nuclear work is advancing to dangerous levels and Israel threatening to attack.

Iranian, Turkish interior ministers meet in Tehran

Iranian Interior Minister Ahmad Vahidi hosted his Turkish counterpart Süleyman Soylu in the capital Tehran on Oct. 20. 

In a statement following a bilateral meeting, Soylu wished Vahidi all the best in his new office.

"To date, we have had very successful cooperation on various issues," he said, adding many problems were solved.

Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul Road Transport Corridor begins operation

A welcoming ceremony was held on Oct. 8 by the Turkish Trade Ministry in Istanbul after the Islamabad-Tehran-Istanbul Road Transport Corridor Project successfully carried commercial cargo on Pakistani trucks to Turkey. 

The trucks departed Sept. 27 from Karachi and reached the Turkish metropolitan city of Istanbul on Thursday, covering 5,300 kilometers (3,293 miles).

Iran museums reopen after year-long COVID break

Iran reopened museums in Tehran and other cities on Sept. 19 after a more than year-long closure because of the COVID-19 pandemic.

"Museums in Tehran and other large cities that are no longer red-coded, meaning the risk of contracting the virus was very high, reopened on Sept. 19," the director of Iran's museums, Mohammad-Reza Kargar, told AFP.

The Bulgarian national volleyball team qualified for the semifinals of the World Under-19 Championship.

The team led by the coach Martin Stoev won 3: 2 (25:27, 27:25, 21:25, 31:29, 18:16) against Italy in an extremely contested and spectacular match.
