Irwin, NSK founder Uranjek dies
Ljubljana – Roman Uranjek, one of the founders of two the most influential Slovenian contemporary arts collectives, Irwin and Neue Slowenische Kunst, has died aged 60, several media have reported. Born in Trbovlje in 1961, Uranjek entered the art scene with the Irwins in 1983, creating an an arts phenomenon whose influence stretches from the 1980s to the present.

Slovenia to get new airline, aviation portal says
Ljubljana – A new airline named SouthEast Airlines is emerging in Slovenia, web aviation portal Sierra5 reported on Tuesday, adding that the airline will initially provide mainly charter flights using Airbus A320 fleet. At first, SouthEast Airlines is to focus on EU markets with the first licensed commercial flight planned for early June.

Brussels takes Slovenia to court over waste water directive, issues warning about e-tolling
Brussels – The European Commission has taken Slovenia to court for failure to comply with the directive concerning urban waste water treatment. The country has also received a formal notice for not complying with the EU’s electronic tolling rules.
Pixxelpoint moves online for 2020’s corona-edition
Nova Gorica – This year’s Pixxelpoint, an international festival of contemporary new media art, brings a review of Slovenian festivals dedicated to contemporary art practices at the crossroads of art, science and technology. It will be held in Nova Gorica for the 21st year between 10 and 17 December, and due to Covid-19, entirely online.
